Heleen Waaijer has been working at Groenendijk & Kloppenburg Lawyers since september 2020, initially as a legal assistant and since december 2021 as a lawyer. Her specialisations are inheritance law, general civil law and family law. Heleen is a competent and driven lawyer. She is committed and empathic, which enables her to put herself in her clients' shoes. At first, Heleen tries to reach a settlement with the other party, but if necessary, she will initiate legal action. Heleen believes that it is important not to lose sight of the human aspect as well as the legal aspect. Heleen works on both a paid and on a legal aid system basis.

Heleen Waaijer studied at Leiden University. She obtained her bachelors in Law, Notarial Law and the Honours College Law track with an average of 8 and was admitted to Mordenate College. During her studies, she served on a number of committees and on the board of the Leiden Honours Community. Following her participation in a master class and SummerCourt at the District Court of The Hague, she worked for two years as an external court clerk in the commercial section. She has also been an examination trainer and student tutor for first-year students.

In addition, she obtained a master's degree in Civil Law and Criminal Law. She graduated cum laude with a Master's degree in Civil Law. She passed her master's thesis on unmarried cohabitation and distribution problems with a 9. She got the second price in the Kleijn Thesis Competition and published an article on her thesis in the Tijdschrift voor Relatierecht & Praktijk.
